Vinegar Hill Picture Works

Want to hear a fun interview with some new Christian filmmakers?  Then head over to "The Point," a sub-set of Breakpoint Prision Ministries has an interview with the two guys behind Vinegar Hill Picture Works.

Most of  their work so far has been promotional video work, but they mention a couple of feature and/or narrative projects, including a movie about sex trafficing, abortion and a vacuum cleaner salesman.  Hopefully they'll figure out a way to put all of those into the same movie!  That'd be a crazy story!

Speaking of their promo videos, their work is really quite good.  It has a great visual look, and the pieces generally have an interesting meditative tone.  Appropriate I suppose for pieces made for church promos, but they are nice to watch, even if you don't know exactly what they are meant to be promoting.  Their most recent is embeded at the bottom of this post.

They have some good comments in their interview, although I would say that using Uncle Tom's Cabin as an example of a story that addressed an issue by using a great story is a big mistake.  For all its signifigance, Uncle Tom's Cabin is not the kind of story that lasts and endures;  it is not a very good story.
